The “Vanitoso”, belonging to the Coppi cellars, won the most prestigious award of the Vinitaly 2006 exposition, the ”Grand Gold Medal 2006″ reserved to the over six years-aged red wines.
Literally smiting the competition at the Verona wine festival, which has seen a Spanish wine at the second place and a Tuscan wine only at a late seat of the rank, Apulia, represented by the Coppi wine house of Turi, has represented Italy in the international outline.
With the recognition of the Grand Gold Medal 2006, infact, Apulian wines enter to all intents and purposes, and holding the head high, the world of high-quality wines. An extraordinary and prestigious goal, which has filled with pride the Coppi family, proud for having picked up the results of years of work, investments and passion, with the greatest of the recognitions. The numbers of the Vinitaly 2006 edition are soon told: 18 boards of judges set up by more than 90 experts for an amount of 3.500 wine samples, coming from 31 different countries.

Apulia and Italy, represented by Coppi cellars, gained in 2006 with the ”Grand Gold Medal 2006″ a prominent role in the global wine panorama, with a wine, exactly the “Vanitoso”, which has won over everybody for its characteristics.
Soft and balanced, with a light aroma which smells of cacao, this substantial and full wine, whose red ruby colour tends to violet and orange, is perfect combined with fowl, mixed grill, roast and seasoned cheese, braised beef, roulades, beef and horse chops, cooked with tomato sauce.
A classic meditation wine, which with its “Grand Gold Medal 2006” becomes the Sir between the Apulian wines, directly from Coppi cellars, where ages since 1999.
