Primitivo Gioia del Colle D.O.C.Puglia Red Wine – Reserve
The emotion of a wine that already in the glass reveals a crystalline and pleasing sound charms the eye captivates with its wide olfactory range and tasting it one sip leads to another. It is the most awarded and beloved of the precious Coppi Wines collection therefore Vanitoso (“vain”) by nature.
Alcohol content: 14%
Production area: contrada Marchione, on the Turi-Castellana Grotte street, Puglia Soil type: chalky and clayey hills
Main award: 1999 Reserve “Vanitoso”: Diploma of Great Gold Medal at the Vinitaly International Competition 2006, Still Red Wine Category, with at least 6 years of aging
Training system: espalier
Yield per plant: approximately from 1 to 4 kg
Planting year: replanted in the 90s, where there already was a vineyard since the early 1900’s.
Harvest: family grapes harvested in the first half of September, with an attentive grapes bunch selection in the vineyard
Vinification: with the same attention the grapes are checked and reselected in the cellar, where they are crushed and destemmed, and sent to fermenters for alcoholic fermentation on the skins. In this delicate phase, the wine expresses the substances contained in the skins, such as its fruitiness, polyphenols, and tannins, contributing to the creation of a delightful journey in the glass. Each step takes place at a controlled temperature
Annual production: Riserva Vanitoso Primitivo di Gioia del Colle D.O.C. is only produced in excellent years; vintage 2016 is currently available
